80 Feared Murdered In Boko Haram Fresh Raid On Mafa, Borno
Suspected Boko Haram members attacked Mafa Local Government Area on Sunday night, having destroyed over 70 percent of structures in the area and having reportedly killed scores of people.
According to an eyewitness, who spoke with Daily Post, more than 80 people may have been killed as dead bodies littered the community.
The eyewitness also noted that he saw casualty on both sides of the Boko Haram and the security personnel, who have been battling the insurgents.
Adeleke Appoints Nephew, Aregbesola's Ally As Board Chairmen
The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke named Tunji Adeleke, son of the late state governor, Isiaka Adeleke, and Rasaq Salinsile, former chairman of the defunct Rauf Aregbesola’s faction of the All Progressives Congress, as board chairmen on Thursday.
Adeleke Jr. has been appointed as chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, while Salinsile will serve as chairman of the Teaching Service Commission.
Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, also announced several other appointments.
The All Progressive Congress (APC), Ondo State chapter has reportedly suspended a former governorship aspirant in the state over anti-party activities. Reports reaching Naija News confirmed that twenty-five out of the twenty-nine officials of the party in the state, penned their signature to suspend Mrs Jumoke Anifowose, a one-time governorship candidate in the state.
Spokesperson of the party in the State, Alex Kalejaiye said the decision was taken at a meeting of the party held in Igboroko unit 1, Ward2, Owo Local Government Area of the state.
